Working as both a heavy duty insulator and a heat barrier/reflector, it is made from a carbon pan based felt that can handle 1800 degrees F of direct contact heat! A heavy duty aluminum foil backs the felt and reflects up to 1100 degrees F of continuous radiant heat. This mat can be affixed directly to exhaust systems, industrial and commercial piping, and many other heavy duty heat sources.
